Recipe: Cranberry Orange Bread
This delicious quick bread is perfect for the holiday season!
- 1 loaf
- 2 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup applesauce
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, orange zest, and salt. Mix in the wet ingredients until just blended. Fold in the cranberries and nuts last. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake 55 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
Optional: When the bread has cooled you may top it with a confectioner’s sugar icing of your choice.
