Pendle Hill’s 2010 summer speaker series, Gifts of the Spirit, will take place on Thursday evenings from June 24 to July 22. The speakers will address topics of discernment, hearing and responding to leadings, varieties of spiritual gifts, and the role of faithfulness in the work of social justice.

The Quaker Initiative to End Torture – QUIT : An Update on American Torture

John Calvi is the founding convener of The Quaker Initiative to End Torture – QUIT and a Quaker healer with 28 years of experience working with torture survivors. John Calvi has been working with people surviving traumatic experience since 1982.

Unlikely Friendships: An Interfaith Response to the Changing Face of America

David Fraccaro is a recent graduate of Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University in New York City with a focus on religion and human rights. David has worked internationally on issues related to human rights and conflict resolution in Bolivia, Kenya, and East Timor.

A native to Philadelphia, Adetokunbo is blessed with the heart of a teacher and promotes personal development in everyone he meets. Currently he serves as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, working to reduce poverty in the Richmond area by recruiting and mobilizing college students as volunteers.
