Liberated Learning: Strategies for Lifelong Curiosity, Boldness, and Growth

Sept 26 - Nov 28 Fall 2012

Nico Amador, from Training for Change

Let’s be honest, learning isn’t easy! It requires us to stretch ourselves. It requires imagination, courage, and vulnerability. As adults, many of us let fear, self-judgment, or routine hold us back from becoming active learners in our daily lives. We miss opportunities to expand our knowledge, build relationships, gain new skills, and deepen our personal and spiritual insights.

This course is meant for those who want to deepen their awareness of themselves as learners, cultivate habits that facilitate personal growth, and practice empowered learning in a group setting. We’ll explore themes such as learning styles, risk-taking, conflict, self-limiting beliefs, and empowerment through experiential activities, reading, and reflection. The work we do together as a group will also serve as a laboratory to notice what shows up for us as learners in relationship to group dynamics, culture, and various kinds of diversity. You will get support to identify goals for your own growth and to apply lessons you learn so you can nurture growth in others.
