New Year's Retreats
Welcome the New Year at Pendle Hill
Celebrate the New Year at Pendle Hill! Be part of an inspiring musical experience with Maestro Karl Middleman, renew yourself in a mindfulness retreat with Valerie Brown, or create your own personal retreat. However you participate, you will enjoy our New Year's Eve celebration.
New Year's Eve Celebration
Join us for a joyous, alcohol-free soiree featuring hors d'oeuvres, an inspired home-cooked dinner with local organic ingredients, and a chamber concert featuring soprano soloist Emily Eisen, pianist Laurie Rogers, and the talented Middleman clan. Cap the evening with our traditional candlelight Meeting for Worship to welcome the New Year.
Soprano Emily Eisen is a rising young talent, exhibiting an amazing mastery of the soprano repertoire from the classical to the modern, from the operas of Donizetti to Verdi. A devotee of the art song, Emily brings a particular gift for interpreting lieder on the concert stage. Learn more about Emily at www.emilyeisen.net.
Personal Retreats (Sojourns)
Enjoy the bookstore, library, art studio, and common spaces without participating in a program. New Years sojourners are welcome at worship, meals, snack times, and evening entertainment.
