When we engage in our relationship in a conscious and intentional way we build a more peaceful world, beginning in our own home. We can then share that example in our community and the world.” —Couple Enrichment facilitator

How can couples care for themselves and each other while also caring for children, supporting aging parents, or tending to the needs of others?

Since 1969, Friends Couple Enrichment has been building on Friends testimonies by sharing Quaker practices that help couples connect and reconnect as their relationship develops over time. Trained facilitators help couples gain the confidence to listen deeply and share honestly. Couples learn how to embrace and constructively work through conflict. Experiential exercises build trust, intimacy, mutual respect, and a supportive community that honors the Light in both the relationship and the individual. These same skills can be applied in any relationship.

This is an introductory workshop intended for couples interested in growing their own relationship and providing a community of support to other couples. It is preventive medicine, not therapy. We will tend the theme of “caring for your relationship while caring for others,” but any couple in a committed relationship, whether you are currently responsible for the care of others or not, is encouraged to participate. For more of an introduction, watch the Friends Couple Enrichment QuakerSpeak video.
