Narrative Gardening Online RetreatFollow the seed-cycle as metaphor as you craft your creative nonfiction essay, poetic memoir, or begin a longer (prose) memoir. Through a listening meditation, discover the seed that Spirit is leading you to grow into story. Practice divine collaboration in the writing process. Learn how to tend to your sprouting and rooting narrative using an arts-based Lectio Divina spiritual practice. Mindfully map your story’s shape and track themes in your writing to guide your words toward the sun. Weed and prune your essay or memoir for new literary growth. Write until your story blooms, and share it with other writers in the program.

Recommended supplies: A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone; writing tools; a journal and/or a word processing program; a working printer if using a computer or tablet to write; a piece of paper 11” x 14” to 18” x 24”; a few 3” x 5” cards; pens; thin markers; a tall stack of Post-it/sticky notes and/or highlighters (possibly in different colors).
