About the Author(s)

Suzanne O’Hatnick is a member of Baltimore Monthly Meeting of Friends, Stony Run. She worked in Bosnia and Herzegovina on a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development to support the nonprofit sector.

Suzanne earned her BA in French at Hollins College (now University) in Virginia and her MAT in French and Spanish at the University of Pittsburgh. In her early career, Suzanne served as a Volunteer in the Peace Corps in Peru and taught Spanish and French at the secondary school level in the US. She directed a non-profit international exchange and training organization in Maryland for a number of years. She also served as an organizational development consultant to grassroots non-profit organizations in the US and abroad. Starting in 1996, she worked as a consultant primarily in Bosnia and Herzegovina, serving on a peace team as well as working on human rights and the development of the non-governmental sector. Suzanne is married to Robert O’Hatnick. They have two adult children, Joannah and Jacob.
