About the Author(s)

Maurice Friedman is an acclaimed religious scholar. His best-known work addresses Martin Buber and psychology. He worked with Buber’s writing while teaching at Pendle Hill during the 1940s, before he attended the University of Chicago, where he got his Ph.D. in 1950. He taught at the University of California at San Diego for forty years, retiring in 1991. He has written more than a dozen books. Following his retirement from academia, he continued to work at the institute for dialogical psychotherapy in Solana, California.
