Synopsis

From the Introduction:

“The material in this publication grew out of a three-weeks seminar at Pendle Hill, January 14 to February 7, 1941, which considered the general subject of “Pacifism under Conscription, in Time of War, and in Time of Post-War Construction.” This was the second annual seminar initiated by the Peace Section of the American Friends Service Committee, the first one having dealt mainly with the problems of the conscientious objector. The thirty-nine people who participated represented areas as widely separated as Vermont, Canada, and California. Some twenty-five men and women gave addresses or led discussions.” —E. Raymond Wilson, Pendle Hill, February 21, 1941

Pacifist Living Today and Tomorrow was published jointly by The Peace Section of the AFSC, and Pendle Hill, “a Center for Religious and Social Study Maintained by Members of the Society of Friends.”
