Synopsis
“These true stories,” says AFSC general secretary Mary Ellen McNish, “lift up the intrepid spirit of the women and men who went to Europe after World War II to help heal the wounds of war. They often found themselves in situations where – as one volunteer put it – ‘we did things we couldn’t do, but we didn’t know we couldn’t do them.’ What they accomplished continues to inspire our work today.”
