Synopsis
In his 1996 Swarthmore Lecture, former French teacher Jonathan Dale considers the stark choice faced by Britain Yearly Meeting. It can reject its heritage of corporate social concern and witness, turning its back on a society which is rapidly moving away from the values of the United Kingdom. Or it can meet the challenge of an increasingly polarized society through the renewal of its social testimony.
