Synopsis
Harriet Durham is a birthright member of the Society of Friends from Wilmington, Delaware, and a graduate of Wilmington Friends School and Swarthmore College. For over two decades she traveled the Caribbean with an intense interest in the history of the area. Harriet’s Quaker background and her love for the Caribbean combined to produce the interest to research this book. A short period in the history of Quakers was their sojourn in the West Indies – a turbulent period in Quaker history as well as the emerging colonial era.
