Synopsis
In Patterns and Examples, Geoffrey Hubbard considers the application of Quaker attitudes to foreign policies. He suggests that the institutions of Europe offer a model for development beyond the nation state. He discusses how policies directed towards preserving peace, human rights, and the integrity of creation, though hardly practicable for a single country, could be pursued at the European level, thus offering an example of international collaboration in the interests of human survival rather than human greed. Part of the Swarthmore Lecture Series (1991).
