The Swarthmore Lecture series has been delivered on the evening preceding the assembly of Britain’s Friends’ Yearly Meeting each year, beginning in 1908. Astronomer and mathematician Sir Arthur Eddington’s Science and the Unseen World was delivered at Friends House, London, in 1929.
