Synopsis
The author describes this as the “Lite Book of Quaker History,” not intended to usurp the “tomes from the Biblical and philosophical scholars.” Her dry humor is evident throughout – to remind the reader that by “accepting that of God in everyone” we then have to accept the wide range of human religious expressions passionate people feel. She is quite willing to make us confront ourselves, simply by reporting on this sect’s depth of conviction.
