Synopsis
In a tribute to Henry J. Cadbury, the essays in this volume form a collection of works, of both an historical and contemporary nature, depicting the lives and representing the interests of the Society of Friends. The essays touch on all subjects, from individual family history to the fruits of thought, experience, and research from all climates.
“It is fitting that Anna Brinton should have undertaken the task of gathering and editing the material for this book in honor of Henry Joel Cadbury, who recently resigned as Chairman of the American Friends Service Committee after twenty-two years of service. . . . Twenty-one Friends from England, Ireland, Sweden, and the United States have contributed to this Festschrift.” ~Bulletin of Friends’ Historical Association, 1962.
