About the Author(s)
Walter Barnett (1933-1985) received Law degrees from The University of Texas and Columbia and studied at the University of Europe, in Belgium on a Fulbright Scholarship. He later served the State Department’s foreign exchange program as a lawyer. He wrote two books, Sexual Freedom and the Constitution and Jesus, the Story of His Life. His Pendle Hill pamphlet Homosexuality and the Bible: an Interpretation drew on his legal experience, but also drew on his experience working for social justice within a religious context in California. He worked as counsel to the Friends Committee for California Legislation and lived for many years in Catholic Worker houses in that state.
