Leader

Musical Director Jacqueline Coren has retired from George School in Bucks County, where she taught music, directed the student and community choruses, and was music director for school musicals for 23 years. She attributes her love for the sound and spirit of people singing together to her childhood in the 50s and 60s singing “…Along With Mitch” on TV and being part of countless “hootenanies.”  Classically trained as a choral musician at the University of California and Westminster Choir College, Jackie has a particular love for the “Y’all Come” community chorus in which singers range from the shy beginner to the confident experienced. She encourages everyone to sing, because we, our voices are an instrument of beauty and transformation in the world. Jackie founded the Pendle Hill Community Chorus in 1993; and singing continuously since then (with a two-year hiatus during Covid), the Chorus draws amateur vocalists from throughout Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. They offer two concerts a year, in the Spring and Winter. All are invited to sing!
