Fritz Eichenberg (1901-1990) was a German-American illustrator and arts educator who worked primarily in wood engraving. His best-known works focused on religion, social justice, and nonviolence and several representations can be found in his Pendle Hill pamphlets Art and Faith and Artist on the Witness Stand, as well as Journey Through Skepticism and Philip Harnden’s Letting That Go, Keeping This: The Spiritual Pilgrimage of Fritz Eichenberg. Eichenberg also produced a poster for Pendle Hill’s 60th Anniversary, based on his famous woodcut “The Peaceable Kingdom.”
