Synopsis
Sharing the Scriptures, by Edwin B. Bronner of Haverford College, is a commemorative essay which recounts the history of the Bible Association of Friends in America. Founded in 1849 by Orthodox Friends, the Association was a direct outgrowth of the concerns raised by the Great Separation among Philadelphia Quakers. The author traces the origins of the Bible Association, comparing and contrasting its philosophy and activities with other Bible societies of the same era.
