Renowned for his illustrations of literary classics by Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy, Fritz Eichenberg – who died in 1991 at the age of 90 – was one of the world’s master wood engravers. This collection contains 50 of his contemporary renderings of the life of Christ among the homeless, hungry, and persecuted, all taken from his 40 years of contributions to The Catholic Worker newspaper.
