Synopsis
In 2005, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting celebrated the 50th anniversary of its reunification following 128 years of disunity during the Hicksite/Orthodox split. This documentary offers some perspectives on the occasion of that anniversary, through five Friends who share their memories of the reunification in 1955 and the times leading up to it. Its purpose is not to provide a comprehensive historical view, but rather to capture some personal viewpoints on the events leading to reunification. The history is relevant today, as Friends continue to address challenges to our unity, even as we strive to worship, work for a more peaceful world, and engage with ever-increasing diversity in our lives.
