Pendle Hill’s budget year ended in August 2015 with another year of growth and “good news.” In fact, our financial performance for the year was $80,000+ better than budgeted! We put new roofs on our buildings, brought Wi-Fi to the entire campus, and are adding rooms with increased accessibility. (To celebrate, we took a day off and lunched at an arboretum together as a community…)
We give thanks to the 109 donors who gave to Pendle Hill for the first time this year, the 10 foundation grantors, and the many generous ongoing supporters; our community is feeling very grateful and well-used. Throughout the past year, we have been providing timely programs and making many campus improvements while offering radical hospitality to more than 5,000 visitors. In the past month alone we have been visited by a 90-year-old Muslim peace activist from New Delhi, received five young-adult year-long interns from Germany, and welcomed new long-term scholars and our year-long Friend in Residence. (We would be delighted if the next person to pull up a chair in the dining hall were you!)
We look forward to another year of providing a range of provocative, meaningful, and important educational offerings that nurture spiritual seeking and which promote peace in the Quaker tradition. Browse our website to find out about the many ways we draw on the rich resources of our community and beyond. We hope you will see opportunities for life-altering dialogue and making connections between your vision and the steps to achieve it.
See you here soon?
In Friendship,
Jennifer Karsten
