Did you know that our Waysmeet building is cool this summer due to new central air conditioning? This is just one example of many improvements we’ve made so your stay at Pendle Hill is comfortable.
You can see or feel some of our renovations and capital improvements, including the repairs staff member John Freeburg made in late January to the Reading Room ceiling, or new central air conditioning in Waysmeet. You may not notice other improvements, such as roof repairs. They’re all for your comfort!
On January 30, John Freeburg added new ceiling trim in the Reading Room. “The old ceiling tiles were falling down,” he said,”so we put up new ceiling tiles, new trim, and new track lights.” The Reading Room has also been beautifully repainted, and new carpeting is being installed.
Several capital improvement projects were completed last fall. Director of Finance and Human Resources Lola Georg notes the major projects:
In September 2013, Pendle Hill replaced the 43 year-old furnace and added central air conditioning to Waysmeet.
October 2013 was a busy month. A leaking section of the Main House dining room roof was replaced. A water abatement project was completed in the basement of the Barn, where the heating and air conditioning equipment is located. Also in October, Pendle Hill replaced a leaking section of the Brinton House roof over the dining room.
In November 2013, we replaced the roof over the meeting room of Upmeads.
All of these improvements were made possible through the generosity of donors. Your support furthers Pendle Hill’s mission and vision. Click to give a gift to Pendle Hill.
We hope you’ll visit Pendle Hill soon. More to come!
