Whoever wins the presidential election, whether or not the result is contested, we know there will be much work to be done. How do we prepare when we don’t know what is coming? We will explore the different possibilities and ground ourselves in what we do know – about what it will take to create a more just, sustainable, and loving world, as well as Quaker practices that keep us grounded and listening to Spirit for the times ahead.

Leader(s)

Eileen Flanagan is the award-winning author of three books, including Renewable: One Woman’s Search for Simplicity, Faithfulness, and Hope. She carries a minute of religious service from Chestnut Hill Meeting for her “prophetic ministry of healing humanity’s separation from the earth, each other, and the Divine.” As clerk of Earth Quaker Action Team for five years, she helped to develop the strategy that pressured PNC Bank to stop financing mountaintop removal coal mining, and helped launch the current Power Local Green Jobs campaign. Since the 2016 election, her speeches, writing, and online teaching on spiritually-grounded activism have reached thousands.
