A Musical Evening with Kate MacLeod and friends

Former Artist-in-Residence Kate MacLeodJoin Kate MacLeod as she shares music she composed during her stay at Pendle Hill as the 2018 Minnie Jane Artist-in-Residence. The event will include songs and instrumental pieces interspersed with comments on the inspiration for the music and her composing process. This collection of music is inspired by Quaker practices of peace, non-violence, and community, as well as research, reflection, and personal experiences from her stay at Pendle Hill. Kate performs with violin, guitar, and vocals and crosses genres from Classical to Americana/Folk. She will be joined by special guest musicians.

Kate MacLeod is an award-winning songwriter and instrumentalist performing throughout the United States and Europe, often donating her music to environmental and social justice activities. Other artists have recorded her music in Celtic, Bluegrass, and other Roots Music genres. Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Kate now resides in Salt Lake City, UT, where she is a member of the Salt Lake Quaker Monthly Meeting.
